About Me

My name is Jo. I am  a  Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Special Education Teacher,  Sandplay Therapist and Expressive Arts Therapist.  I enjoy being part of the healing and transformative power of expressive art  therapy, and how this can help people to heal, grow and create a meaningful life.

I am passionate about working with clients who have experienced complex trauma and who subsequently experience mental health challenges.  I enjoy using creative psychotherapies, particularly Sandplay Therapy and Guided Drawing to help the healing process.  I am a person centred therapist who values my client's lived experience. I am a trauma-informed Art Therapist and use psychological interventions from approaches such as mindfulness, sensory-motor psychotherapy, and other body centred  approaches.

My Mission

My vision for Melbourne Sandplay & Expressive Art Therapies is to help people find their authentic selves.

Sandplay and Expressive Therapies help clients engage in a process of self discovery, create their own meanings and develop their abilities whilst valuing the inner-wisdom and strength that the client already comes with.

It is always an honour to work with clients who have experienced trauma and are learning to heal themselves.

Our bodies hold our trauma and they also hold they keys to self  healing .
